I noticed while looking through the items for sale by The Parts Place on eBay that they now sell an exact reproduction #1114430 TCS solenoid for the 70-2 cars. The price was $99.95.
It's real nice ,however if one wants to nit pick it,(and I'm not, just got one last week) the mnt brkt should be yellow cad.But never the less a great part to have them making.
I thought all the 4bbl cars were the same, and the 2bbls had a different bracket because they are mounted on the thermostat housing bolt.
>>Yes, that is right. My car originally had the 2bbl set up and the TCS was on the termostat housing bolt. When I swapped to a 4bbl the TCS mounted on the carb. Mine works fine but looks worn, was interested in a new piece if available. So is there some internal difference in the TCS solenoid for the 350 with a/c and without a/c?
As far as I know the 350 with a/c used the tcs/tvs combination switch that screwed into the intake. I'm fairly sure that's what the Chassis Service Manual showed. I will take a look at the manual tomorrow. Even if that's the way they were originally, you can still run the other set up with the carb. mounted tcs and the intake mounted tvs.
>>On my car I have the TCS solenoid on the carb and the Thermo Vacuum Switch (three port piece) screwed into the intake.
71's had the TCS mounted on the carb (4bbl) regardless of AC. 72's, I believe, are a different story.
