I agree. What motor takes the 12 tiny ones?

The long con rods definately look to be LONG and I am sure not light! Check out the crank. Does not appear to have a vey long throw, but the cam shaft???? That appears to be a motor built for long life and BIG torque! :eek2:

Oh, nice carpet in the garage!

    It's not legal, it's only a six. Or maybe a 12, or 18.

Very cool parts,is someone making a scaled down version of something here?If the crank belongs to that block,it's a V12.Can the beer drinking spy post a picture of the block's deck? :beer

    Diesel engine??

What in the heck are the two sets of smaller rods for?? and the smaller crank??

3 different lengths of connecting rods, two crankshafts... I'm stumped :Dou: :Do No:

I am assuming that the "small crank" is like a camshaft, since there is 2 small rods per cylinder. I immagine that the small rods connect to a type of valve, just not a typical stem valve. I would love to see what exactly it is.

My rod is so big, it has two littler 'moon' rods orbiting around it ???

Early detroit diesel? What truck had one of those high winding, no torque, screaming MIMI's in it? Brian, is that going in the old wrecker replacing the flathead? :Brow:

Looks like a sleeve valve engine, such as was used in the Stearns-Knight and the Willys-Knight. The little con rods move the sleeves up and down, aligning the ports. Do I win a prize? :Smarty:

Well,I missed that by a few miles :spank: .I was hoping for a V 12 build,I like to see one put together.A friend is building 1/3 scale sbc and that's what I tought about when I saw the small c-rods.Anyway,old engine builds are always cool in my book :TU: .

No prize, but you are correct. the car belongs to a guy on the Corvette Forum.

There's another one that isn't quite this nice out back in Brian's grain shed, or is it the outhouse? Needs a little TLC, though. Nice Vette peeking out next to it. I love 62's with 327's.

Apparently the French company Avions Voison made an 8 litre 12 cylinder in 1927 that used the same "Knight sleeve" technology. Put a mystery build picture of that on and watch us all scratch our heads. :Do No:

In researching this motor a bit I see it claims to actually build more power and efficiency with carbon build up :TU: . It also says it has a very distinct and quite noise. I would love to hear a clip when it is runnung

Hats off to the guys taking the road less traveled.
