Trying to fix my temperature gauge, the wire running from the sending unit to the gauge has no broken wires all intact. How do I check the gauge itself?

Disconnect the wire from the sender. With the ignition on, the gauge should read cold. With the wire grounded, it should read hot

Max Damage I'm working on it!

So when you say the wire is intact, did you ohm it out with a meter, or it just looks good?

Just bringing this up, because it's good to test the wire before replacing the gauge.

Are you sure that's correct? Any GM that I've worked on is open high and grounded is low. Not that I've ever been wrong before!:D
