I've seen a bunch of pics with the normal vacuum tree replaced with a sending unit with a small tube or wire coming out of the top...

Where does one get one of these?:puzzled:

Also interested in knowing about oil pressure sending units...what has to be done to attach a guage for that?

I'm getting close to installing a set of triple guages, and I want to have a clue as to what to do.

    Adam,
The water temp gauges come either electric(with a wire going to the sending unit) or mechanical(with a capillary tube attached to the sending unit)
I prefer to use electric temp gauges(a little more money) since all you have to worry about is connecting a wire to the sending unit. The capillary tube is a sensor with a nut that screws into a fitting that goes where your tee originally is.
Usually when you get mechanical gauges you also get a couple fittings that will screw into your engine and these fittings are what the capillary tube screws into. You have to see which one fits your engine. The only bad thing is that you need a big hole in the firewall to get the fitting and nut through.Either is a good alternative over stock gauges. As for the oil,you get all the fittings to go into the engine and the back of the gauge.Do yourself a big favor and buy some1/8 inch copper tubing and ditch the plastic tubing that comes with the gauges. It melts and can cause a big mess for you.

Adam, do a search for this here. There are a couple of good posts explaining how to do this, including some from me when I put in my gauges.
