I got all my ducks in a row for next Wednesday. Trailer is available and so is Grandma for childcare. I'm pretty sure Frank R......(use your imagination)...... is in. Who else wants to go? Tim & Rhonda? Jeremy & Yvonne?
I'll be working but Yvonne wants to go and try and beat my 13.16 @ 105 from Norwalk this weekend. I lost my match race by 2 tenthousands, talk about a :kodak: finish. My 4yr old son said YES dad lost, now we can go home. Got a good laugh I guess.
Bring lots of lemonade and Gatorade. Temperature for Wednesday should be in the low 90's. ugh. I HATE racing in hot weather.
You have got to stop letting work get in the way of drag racing. Get it done Wednesday morning so you can join us in the afternoon.
Can you say HOT HOT HOT! Jack Lee and his '69 Bee(green w/white top) showed up with Paul Petcou to join in the HOT fun with Frank and I. We were all running about 2 tenths and 2 mph slower than what we did last fall in the cool air. Did I mention it was HOT & we did some sweating? A turbo fox body Mustang hit the wall early on. Driver walked away from the wreck but the Mustang was hurt bad. We sweated some more while we waited. I think I got 8 runs in and left by 7pm. I was still sweating by 7pm until I got into the AC of my new tow vehicle. The ride out there and back was cool. First time pulling my car with the new 97 F-350 diesel. First time I have pulled w/ a diesel. Wow what a difference.
wrecked Mustang my new F-350 Eventually the brush gaurd is coming off and the running boards replaced. I was thinking about getting rid of the visor over the windshield, but the extra shade you get inside the cab is kinda nice. I know the visor has a negative effect on fuel economy.
The weather station in my trailer was showing 106*. Too hot for racing. Not a big crowd at the track like they usually have on a Wednesday T&T. Probably because IT WAS TOO BLOODY HOT!
Going down there to watch Rob Thomas and a few other Oldsmobile friends Saturday. Rob usually goes real deep in the eliminations and has won these things many times. Truck looks good, Chris. Always loved the styling on those pre 1997 F series. I still have my F250 4 x 4 diesel. Rarely moves anymore...
Thanks Dave. Even though I did not have a stellar day at the track, trying out the new truck and being happy with it was satisfying.
