Hi all! Do I have to remove the tranny pan to unhook my detent cable? It appears as though mine is 1 piece (as in it will not unhook from an extension piece at the trans body where it goes into the pan, unless I am missing something) 72 Skylark with TH350 trans. My cable is broken at the pedal. Anyone know a replacement part number/vendor with one available? Thank you in advance!

No need to drop the pan. Remove the one bolt, and pull the cable out of the transmission case. The eyelet of the cable end hooks to a small link that will pull out. Just unhook the cable eyelet and replace with the new cable. The cable end seals with an o ring.

TA Performance has the Buick cable,

Thank you! The connection Eyelet was pinched in the shaft so I could not get the cable far enough out of it to see it to release it. Little work with a vice grips got it released and see the connection. Thank you so much.

The o-ring isn't easy to find anymore.

Vice grips help on the small diameter rod to hold it up
