Okay, I've searched around and can't find a real answer, if I swap out my ST300 for a TH400 in my 65 Skylark, the frame has a raised pad where the crossmember sits now. If I slide back the crossmember to fit the TH400, the crossmember will no longer be on the raised pad. The bottom side of the frame rail is angled downward everywhere rearward of the pad. I don't recall this issue on my previous 1966 A - body cars. So do I just let the crossmember sit on the angled part of the frame? Make a wedge support? Would like to hear from someone with the same issue, thx.

When we did this I made a Homemade plate of steel and welded it to the frame. That is the only way you can do it. Make a plate weld it in.

Thanks, will do something like that. Apparently 64-65 frames are different from 66-67? Probably because the ST400 was only used on GS cars with the boxed frame??
