I wrote to Automotive Machine and Performance concerning the "Super Q-Jet"and Fred Wilkerson wrote back stating the Super Q-Jet could be built based on specific needs, and this Q-Jet flowed 900 cfm.I recall when the Carburetor Shop(Brad Urban)was modifying Q-Jets,he was getting an additional 40 cfm on the Q-Jets( 790 on the 750's/ 840 on the 800's) The only specific needs that I see is:(1.) a stealthy appearance.and (2.) more power out of the Q-Jet.But at what cost would such modifications be necessary to achieve over 850 cfm out of a Q-Jet? I'd like to hear from you carb gurus out there...I had my#7042240 800 Q-Jet rebuilt by Mr.John Osborne...If anyone has one, tried one or would care to give their insight,it would enlighten me all the more. Thanks,Jay B.Britt,Jr.

    900 CFM? :puzzled:

I'd like to know too, as I've been told that not all 4 barrels were flowed at the some pressure drop.....

I know that getting an extra 40 CFM was do-able by enlarging the primary plates, but 900 CFM? How would you feed fuel to that monster if you where trying to keep a stealth look with your stock fuel line / pump?

    Gurus, please chime in.....

I dunno - I'm guessing that they remove the outer booster venturi, then massage the secondary side like all get-out, with maybe larger throttles?

I think once you remove the outer booster venturi, the carb becomes a dog on the street. I think that's why pontiac quit using those carbs....

They put larger primary blades in it. I think they are (0.062") larger than what a stock 800 cfm would have. They also modify the secondary air valve to achieve "max. air flow".
