Well, it's AAAAALLLLL even! :TU: Andy Pitched his a$$ off. Now off to that loud dome and that damn turf.:Dou: Infielders playing in the outfield and trying to grab balls that go by at a thousand mph. LET'S GO YANKEES!!

  2. I have to admit, Andy P pitched a heck of a game tonight. Radke pitched almost as well, but hitting Johnson with a pitch was his downfall, then the Hawk couldn't get it done this time, plus his throwing error to first :spank: Except for those couple mistakes, it could still be a 1-1 game. Tonight was the Twins turn to play like minor leaguers, since the Yankees did in the 1st game.

By the way, we hate the dome playing conditions too. I'm all for a new outdoor stadium with a retractable roof :TU: 'Course, you MN taxpayers would have to foot that bill, and it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.

Looks like we'll have to crank up the ventilation fans in the dome again to direct the balls!

If the Twinkees or Viqueens want a new stadium they can pay for it! :puzzled:
What part of NO! don't they understand?

Incredible effort once again from Andy Pettite!!!:TU: :TU:

Only one bad pitch to Torii Hunter...other than that - lights out!!:bglasses:

Pretty good matchup with Radke too!!:TU:

Two solid innings from Mariano Rivera. Amazingly, some people think he's lost it. Those people aren't wearing Twins uniforms.:Brow:

I still see this one going the full 5 games. I just don't see either team winning both of the games in the Metrodome.

Jeter and Soriano were hot at the plate again!! Glad to see Giambi come thru with that big hit in the 7th.

  5. I suppose I would feel the same way if I was paying the taxes. So, do you anticipate either franchise actually ponying up for their own new stadium? :Do No:

Pettite is really a great pitcher but I'm really a Mussina fan.Mike went to school in Montoursville (1/2 hour from me)and comes here to sign autographs. He is always a stand-up guy.I see this series in 6 games.Just don't want those Braves to win.EVER! LOL

    Realisticly? No.
Some of the recent plans they've shown for a new ballpark look pretty good.
The dome is kind of a turd. :gt:
We'll have to wait and see, but I can't imagine it happening in the near future with the current state of Minnesota's money issues.

I guess what bothers people is the principle of the whole thing.
Billionare team owners who are willing to pay certain players millions a year don't want to pony up a cent to build their playing field.
Using threats of leaving if they don't get their way.
"I'll take my ball and go home" :ball:

    It's just not right.

  8. Pat, first round is 3 out of 5. :)

Two terrific pitching performances from both sides.

Twins succumbed to miscues way yanks did game before.

Still alot of baseball left for these two.

And with a fantastic job by The Rocket, we just need one more. I hope it's Sunday. I'd like to get this over with asap. These short series make me nervous and I don't take ANYTHING for granted. Look at San Fran. They just went down the tubes against the Marlins and I wouldn't have predicted that a few days ago. LET"S GO YANKEES!!

Incredible pitching by Clemens today!! Mo' too!!:TU: :bglasses:

AJ's homer for the Twins was about their only signs of life.:Brow:

Hopefully, Boomer can wrap things up tomorrow with a win!!:TU: That way, Mussina can start off the Oakland series in game 1. That will keep their rotation in the same order.

I just hope the Yankee bats come to life...not just some of the guys!!:Dou: Good to see Bernie continue to hit pretty well.

I had a feeling that the Marlins and Cubs would give the Giants and Braves all they could handle...they both played very well the last month of the season!!:Smarty: The Braves and Giants had things wrapped up pretty early. The Braves only played .500 ball since the All-Star break.

I want to see the Cubbies make the Series against the Yankees...not to win (of course :Brow: ), just to say they got there.:TU:

    Its not over yet.
The budget boys are holding their own against the highest payroll team in the league. With all the money the Yankees spend on a team and only average less than 3 runs a game is nothing to be proud of "RUSS". Thats from National Lampon's Vacation.

If I spent 5 thousand on a motor and you spent 15 thousand on a motor you had better beat me because if you don't your going to be a little upset.

Jeter said he doesn't care who.I think the Yanks are starting to get some serious motivation now.Bernie is hitting better now and the pitching is looking real good.Should be interesting.

My opinion, I want the Red Sox. Not because they'd be easier to beat, just because of the history between the two teams and there wouldn't be any cross-country plane rides. I think the As and the Sox both would be tough to beat. I don't usually watch many other teams play, besides the Yankees, but I'll sure be watching the A's and Sox on Monday. I'll be keeping track of the Cubs and Braves as well, rooting for a Yankees - Cubs World Series.

    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Doug - I agree with all of that!! Neither team will be very easy to beat, but with a rivalry like the Red Sox/Yankees - WOW, what a series that should be!!:TU:

    I'm pulling for a Cubs - Yankees Series too.:bglasses:

Cubs vs. Marlins should be a pretty exciting series!! Both teams had to get HOT the last month to make it. They're both playing well.

    YA MN TWINS!

    Spank Those Yanks!!! :spank: :spank:

  20. It's a little late for that, Mike...

Hats off to the Yankees. They have the best players money can buy (not knocking them, just a fact) and should have won the series. A team like the Twins has to rely on getting clutch hits and playing mistake-free ball in order to beat the upper echelon teams like NY. I do think NY will have to perform better than they did in the first 3 games if they want to get to the WS though. But I would put my money on them, if I was the betting type. Especially when you look at the pitching staff they have. :eek2:
