any good way to tie down a engine. I'm picking up the engine tommarow(350), and putting it in the back of my '04 Explorer. The back folds, down so no problem at all. What kind of straps to u recomend to use to hold it down :Do No: I have never tied andd engine down before.

Another good idea I use is to take an old tire and try to center the oil pan in it.I just use the old regular ratchet straps on them.Usually 1 or 2 will be good enough to keep it secure. Also a good idea to take some rope in case of any problems.I haul mine in my truck but since you are hauling it in an Explorer,I would lay a piece of card board on the floor that will also go up in the back of the seat area, then get a couple big garbage bags and try to cover as much of the engine in case of oil leaks or antifreeze leaks.Put plastic on the cardboard and maybe use a few old towels or blankets to keep spills to a minimum.Good luck.
