  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy..   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. Tips on ID'ing `65,66,67 Skylarks

    It's real easy to tell what year a car is when it is all together, but once they are in a bone yard and half picked away it can take a little more effort. I've needed a lot of little things for my `66 and have been back and fourth to a few salvage yards here and have come up with a few ways to tell what year car I'm looking at.

    `65
    - quarter lips (above the wheel) are flared outward
    - upper control arm bushings are greasable
    - core support is more "primitive" a rectangular box is behind the headlights

    `66 & `67
    - quarter lips (above the wheel) are recessed
    - upper control arm bushings are the pressed in type (modern)
    - core support is completely formed behind the head lights

    `67
    - has the first generation safety steering shaft, two pieces with the plastic pins, all previous years used a solid one piece shaft.

    With these details I've cut my search time considerably, I can b-line it right to the `66's. When the yards are only open until noon on Saturday and I only get a few Saturdays off, it has begun to pay off.
