I know this has been gone over and over on many threads. I have read them all and I am getting closer to figuring out which tires to order. I would still like to have your opinions.

I have original 15x7 Buick Rally wheels with original offset, etc. They are going on 72 Skylark. I want fat and larger in the back and a little smaller up front to give the car a good stance. I don't want to trim the wheels wells at all and I don't want to lower/raise the car.

Right now I am leaning toward 245/60/15 on the front and 255/60/15 on the rear. Am I way off? Is this enough of a difference to give it a decent stance and aggressive look? Can I fit bigger on the rear using the 7inch rim? If so, what size?

Please give me your opinions and suggested tire sizes. It will be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

245/60-15 is fine for the front. The back you can easily go 275/60-15. I think this would give you the stance you are looking for.

275/60R15 on the back would have my vote. I had them on my car at one time and there is plenty of room. Plus they're 28" tall, so they help keep the rpm's down.

As you say the 275's fit but the
    7" rim gives them a SQUEEZED look,they really need 8"+. That's why I took
them off my car and did 255's on all four corners. Pete

This is true. I did have them on 15x8 rims. And make sure you get enough backspacing. The 3.3" that a lot of people sell is for Chebby's. You'll want 4.5" to center the wheel in the wheel well.

Thomas are you going to drive this car on the street? If so, have you considered the spare tire dilemma that is created by using different size tires on the front versus the back?

For example, if you carry a 2.75 60 x 15 as a spare and you have a flat on the front it will not fit without damaging your fender. On the other hand if you carry a 245 60 x 15 as a spare and have a flat on the back while using 275 60 x 15s you cannot use the spare because it will damage your the rear gears in your posi.

Thanks for the responses you guys. I do plan to drive it on the street. It is pretty much my daily driver at the moment. I had not considered the spare tire issue. I will have to take that into consideration. I love the look and of bigger/smaller but maybe I should put the same tire all around. Hmm... still thinking...lol.

Thanks again for all the help. You guys are great!

what about 295 50s (26.61)in the back and 245 60 (26.57)in the front and use a 245 as a spare? .04 difference and even if its not true sze you may always use different psi in each tire to compenate..

    edit
I have my old tire combo for sell.. 255 60 futura ss in back and 235 60s on front bought new for 310 but that was with tireguard.
i shortly changed them out for 275 rear 245 front so they have elss then 200 miles on them!
i'll let them go for 175. and if youre looking for an extra set of rallies which theyre still mounted to.. $400 for everything

As long as the diameter of the tire is the same, you should not damage anything. So keep that in mind when choosing tires and a spare.

255/60- on 15X8" for rear, 215/70- on 15X7" for front. This combo = same diameter so spare tire will work. Stance is :TU: perfect!!! 8" rims on rear, make the rear tires look like 275's. 70 series on front keeps diameter same as rears.:beers2: :TU:
