Please take the time to review the V8 Board longstanding, and well published, policy regarding negative commentary in another member's for sale ad:

    "Effective immediately.

Due to the high number of complaints I have recieved from users posting for sale ads, only to have the post overtaken by a flame war about prices, vehicle conditions, values, the rise and fall of the Roman Empire ect.. commentary will no longer be allowed in someone's ad. If you want to comment on something, make your own new post about it, in the Bench, or other appropriate forum. Reasonable requests for more pictures, info, or other sale related communication is still allowed.

The moderators have been instructed to immediately delete any post that even hints of anything other than straightforward buying/selling discussion.

Offenders of this new policy risk disciplinary action.

Let's just buy and sell some parts folks, and keep the commetary to ourselves, or in other appropriate forums. It's, at the very least, rude to break up someone's for sale ad with your personal views on prevailing pricing trends, or other non-sale related information.

All ads must have a price and the location that the item is at. Ads not containing this information will be removed immediately.

    Thanks

    JW"

It's no sweat, Jim - I realize some people don't realize what some of the cars are hitting. Considering Oldsmobile is a red-headed step child in the way Buick is in the muscle car world, I don't blame someone thinking it's a princely price for a pauper passenger car.

Ya know, I was just cracking a joke. I more than anybody would take an Olds LONG before any Chev or Pumpjack out there.
I would hope that Diego would understand, that's why I had "HA" at the end of it.
Diego, I apologize for any issues I have caused. Good luck in your sale.

If it had been your post John we would have already removed it. This was posted because of posts that we removed for the reasons stated and that you never saw. Since Diego responsed to the first offending post with the Henmings reference, we just left it.

The holy Grail of Oldsmobiles! It would be an honor to own one of these cars. I have only seen one other 1970 W-30 convertible, which was for sale locally about 10 years ago. IIRC, it was dark green, with a white interior, loaded with options as well.

I guess my post was removed because it was a quote rebutting the reply that the car wouldn't sell for x amount. My post was actually favorable toward the value of the car. However didn't the post belong in the "Cars and parts for sale leads" where negative posts are either acceptable or not monitored by a moderator?

Bob --we are operating under the assumption that this is Diego's personal W-30 Olds. If this is correct, his for sale ad is in the correct location. We note that he references a rare W-30 ragtop in his signature line.

No moderator cares if his ad here is linked to another location on the web just as long as the essential information is in the ad. If Diego does not own the vehicle, you are correct that it should be listed under the leads section.

So when did we start allowing commercial advertising on this forum? I thought it was for board members not Hemmings. If it is Diego's car why shouldn't he have to declare it. How can you assume a car that is located in
Cn. belongs to someone in NY. Normally the guys who are using a different venue to sell there cars will at least
declare it is their car. I think I understand what " If you can't clear up the confusion at least make the confusion clear" is all about.:Dou:

car is well documented, with a very sharp & unique color combo

lot of w30 ragtops have no docs

that sets this car apart from the herd

Well, I had a deal with a V8Buick member, but he had to back out due to unforeseen circumstances. I believe him, but nothing I can do.

So it's back on the market - any Buick guys want an Olds?

I think the stripes add some pizzaz compared to a Stage 1 convertible. :Brow:
