Very true words! I’m glad I don’t have a boat anymore, and just one Buick. The boat would be nothing but aggravating anymore, summer dockage, winter storage, feeling obligated to being up there every weekend cause it’s a waste if your not, plus at least 500.00 every weekend your on it for fuel, food, beer. My GN is gone, didn’t drive it a lot, was a cool car and quick as heck, but it was kinda boring, it never broke. Just another object to take care of.
Nevermind, I figured out how to solve the problem. I haven't used this one in long time until today...
About the only thing I would not drive would be a real low mileage survivor... maybe take it around the block once a year.. Then again I would never buy a low mileage survivor, so I guess the whole thing is moot for me.. I have driven a few brand new frame off restos, stock right down to the Polyglass GT's... it's a cool feeling driving those, knowing this is exactly how they drove when new.. JW
Jim, do you remember the 69 orange Chevelle that Gary Steele's dad restored? I've always wondered if you drove that car.
I enter car shows so I can park with the other cars. I usually go late and leave early once I'm done looking around. That way I avoid the hike or shuttle. I remember one Jag show a crew shows up with an enclosed trailer, rolls the car out next to mine. The shop that restored the car was showing it for the owner. 4 guys polishing, cleaning, keeping people away and talking to the judges. The owner wasn't even there. I still don't understand that situation! My dash plaque says "If you see this car on a trailer call the cops - its been stolen"!
My car has some imperfections and flaws in the body work. It's a solid car though with no rust or rot, and the PO took the body off the frame and painted everything with POR-15. At car cruises, I have had several guys say to me that the car deserves a pristine paint job. I tell them that I would probably be afraid to drive it then. I like it the way it is.
My paint job is over 30 years old now, it’s getting a bit “old” looking, but I’m still proud of it, it’s a solid rust free car and I drive it. Heck with stone chips and bug juice, I’m over that crap
Made me look, I still have the receipt from the previous owner, my paint is from 1982 (41 years) and cost a whopping $500. No, it was not from Earl Scheib
That’s good paint! Sprayed it many times. LOL, yeah some colors are that much a quart these days! My ‘75 Electra I had I paid 31.00 a gallon for black Centari back in the ‘80s, wanted to paint it a dark burgundy metallic but it was too expensive for reds.
I know who owns my last 68 GS400 coupe and it still wears the Centari mixed for Scarlet Red, that I had it painted with back in 1984. Still looks good.
I got mine painted in 88 bad spot is around vinyl roof at back around window and sides still no show for op There was not that many on a trailer at Buick nats in Norwalk lot of drivers there from far too. All comes down to that rear gear
