water temp water temp mid 50s this time of year-although it never gets warm like the atlantic around florida. i remember going to the daytona bike week from my home in ohio in march 1978 and being amazed at how warm the atlantic and the gulf of mexico were! moved to california 18 months after that-that trip to fla convinced me there were better things to do in winter than shovel snow and freeze your butt off.
