When most of the cars on your lists were new you could add 1 1/2 seconds to your current day ETs. I was there and saw a lot of them run off the showroom floor.

Well then...how much did they pick up as soon as you took off the crappy kink bent exhaust and blueprint the motor?

Dunno,is that “pure” stock? What next? Headers, gearset, cam, all the normal day one stuff. Except that Extrude hone wasn’t around then, cheater cams same, blueprinted and lightened rotating assemblies, 540 inch 427s, huge increase in tire technology and all the tricks that the legal super-stockers and stock class NHRA racers use.Still stock?Just like off the showroom floor right? This so called list has to be just for fun but no one in there right mind believes these cars ran that hard back then.

Actually.. I have done the "Certified Stock" Program on My LS6 4 speed Chevelle before- and Plan to again.. .060 over 454, ZERO Porting, I was at Factory Advertised Compression, I even pulled a Brand new GM cam out and stuck it in the car and Degreed it in Right there.. Car did a best of 12.19 at Norwalk, 12.23 at Martin, 12. 2* something at Stanton (with auto -Broken Foot)

I believe if you Know who is Using 540 cube motors, Extrude Hone , And So on.. Speak up and Call them out and get them Bounced !!!! Don't be one of those haters that Guess and Whine because they pull there car out and go to the track TWICE a year. No tuning and cant figure out why there car goes Slow..

My 1969 Chevelle has Probably been Finger Probed more than ANY other car out there.. I spend Almost Every week at a track ,Testing, Tuning , Trying New things... I have Dynoed that motor alone More than most people in a Lifetime!! Testing Slightly tweeked LEGAL cams.. 1% Lift and 1% Duration either way is LEGAL.. Lobe separation adjustments are allowed, I Build Motors as Part of my Living- ATTENTION to Details make HUGE Differences.. The Days of " I Slapped a set of Rings and Bearings in a SBC " Doesn't Make someone an engine Builder.

IF You KNOW For a Fact that is going on with Someone PLEASE DO SOMTHING ABOUT IT !!! That CRAP is for F.A.S.T. Class racers !!! Not Pure Stockers
Any Pure Stocker Using that AS You Mention.. Is A PUSSY ! A Cheat ! And Not what that Class was meant for.
But Don't cry wolf Just because Someone does what you cant..
    P.S. that Day 2 crap sucks !

Might suck to you but a lot of cars were modified as soon as they got home. Just how it was. My own 70 LS6 4spd 4.10s on L 60 15s ran 12.50 to 60 driving out with minimal tire slip and some clutch feathering. Took out the air filter and advanced the timing and used av gas. That was it. With drag radials who knows. Or slicks,4.56s and a higher rpm launch. Fastest car there was a friends 66 vette 396/425 on horrendous tires at 12.20s. Did that starting in second. The way you worked your engine to where it runs now is exactly how stock eliminator classes do their engines. A guy in my area has been driving a 66 Impala wagon in stock eliminator for years with a 283/2 bbl powerglide that runs mid 13s. Technically stock. Again, I was at the track in 69,70 before heading to the military and saw a lot of truly Pure stock off the show room floor, mine included. Most big blocks were lucky to get into the 13s.

Hey I was just curious how the top two fastest times were still on the list if the limit is 11.50? It would be sweet to see an 11.500 at the top one day.
