% Torque Convertor slippage?

    what's the generally accepted number for the loss between the flywheel and output shaft?

    i'm thinking of using 4% right now...

    i know there's gotta be an auto trans genius in here somewhere....

    It could be anywhere between 5-20% depending on the quality of the converter, and the stall speed. If you above its rated stall speed and its slipping alot over 5-8% at top end over your calculated rpms, then you know its a poor quality converter.:3gears:

    i understand that high stall convertors will have a higher slip factor.

    i'm looking for a rule of thumb for GM factory transmissions prior to the 200r4.
