It looks like I am picking up another 455 that has already been rebuilt to 1970 specs so I am toying with parting with the 73' 455 I have. The 455 is currently still in the car and running (but only for short periods of time - fuel pump is baff'd) and is coming out on sunday. Starts right up and runs great until the float bowl gets emptied. Doesn't smoke, and oil pressure seems to be good. I don't want to sell it, but would trade it for a Mark IV big block chevy in similar condition for my 85' GMC pickup.
Not a lot of room left in the shop, but I don't mind keeping the motor. Hence not selling it, but would trade it for something I need. The truck has a bad engine, and is backed by a SM465/NP205 setup. They never made a bell housing that will work with the BOP and that trans unfortuantely, and the truck already has headers for a BBC. Like I said, I don't want to sell it since I can just put it under the bench for now, but I do need a motor for the truck I just got. Its just a work truck, and I don't want to put a lot of money into it.
I found a 454 for $600 that is a decent runner. Anyone want the complete buick for $600? Engine/trans and all accessories! Its going to be pulled out today.
