I am going with the 6AN hose from the trans to the cooler. I see many folks have routed the lines "through the frame". I'm looking at my 1967 frame and can't figure that out, especially around the spring. Maybe I'm having a senior moment, but can someone post some pictures on how its done?
    Thanks!

On my Riv there is a guide to run the fuel line through then inside the cross member. If you have braided lines I dont see why ya could not just run them through the frame in and out of the spring pocket and fish em out the end to connect to a cooler.

There is a slot in the frame that you can fit both lines through. Rear and Front respectively,
Cooler lines1.jpg I had to lay the lines across the MT headers so I wrapped them with heat resistant material.

This is where the lines exit the frame on my buddies '67 GTO which is the same as yours. Like Larry said, they enter through an oval slot parallel to the trans. You will definitely have to wrap the new lines with a heat shield wrap. I thought I had better pics of the way we did it but these are all I have....

We also ran a trans cooler up front.

I'd never seen this done before but I swear I thought folks were going all the way to the bumper horns to get it in front of the radiator. LOL.

    Now I know.

Larry's pic looks like it's using the fuel line openings in the frame. Maybe those holes are on both sides.

Can't you just run them along side of the oil pan like the factory steel lines did?
    That's how I ran mine.

The whole point is to run them through the frame to stay away from the heat from the headers. It's actually pretty easy to run them through the frame. You can of course stick with the metal lines.

Right on.I had metal lines off the trans to the just before timing cover, then braided to the cooler.
I will keep that in mind when I reinstall.

There are fuel line openings on both sides of the frame. Buick uses left, Oldsmobile right. I ran my 6an lines under starter, along side of oil pan IMG_0886.jpeg IMG_0887.jpeg

I think Jim W. sells or perhaps used to offer a kit to make this routing thru the frame a simple matter. Maybe he'll chime in on this thread.

I routed my trans lines thru the frame. As shown above, it’s pretty much the same as the fuel line routing on the driver side. I also ordered some of the protective material like what was used to protect the fuel line. I figured that should prevent rattles or wear and looks like it came that way. I first made a set of lines out of plain steel. Then bent a set out of stainless.

If you run them through the frame, make sure that they are secured where they pass by the spring. There's only a 1/2" or so clearance between the frame and the spring.

Thanks - that was my biggest concern!
