Can anyone tell me why a 1972 GS convertible with a 350 4V would have a tri-shield medallion on the nose of the hood? The VIN# and information on the data plate/body tag on the cowl confirms that this car is a GS. I thought that the hood might be off a Skylark, but the hood is a GS hood. The medallion looks out of place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Randy
Not sure but both my 72 Customs have that piece, and I've noticed regular Skylarks don't seem to have it.
My 72 costum conv has it too & I have seen 3 72 with that emblem on the GS hood when i lived in the Seattle area. :eek2: Lee
I agree I agree with Dan... My understanding was that all non-GS hoods had the emblem in '72..and GS hoods did not. Stanley
I had a 72 GS with the emblem & a friend who bought his car new had one too :jd: both car's we're from fremont cal. go figure--Leeou:
