I wanted to confirm 09b on the trim tag Does 09b. Mean September and b for black interior? Thanks in advance
Unusual to see the Z prefix on the interior code (Z128). I believe that means it is a non-recommended interior color for that paint color. Which is very strange since your car is 14 (silver) with a black (128) interior is not a weird combination at all. There's a little mentioned about Z codes in this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/lost-70-stage-1.246904/page-2#post-2674226 and in post #37 of this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/lost-70-stage-1.246904/page-2#post-2674226
Yeah I hear what your saying it dosnt make sense but I think I read people wonder how many time the z was left in by accident
Seems really strange to see it on your car. Maybe it was indeed an accident. Or maybe the Buick community hasn't fully discovered all of the potential meanings for adding the Z code. We may never know. A neat topic of conversation. Good luck with your car.
johnnybuickgs It looks like you have a standard black front bench seat interior in your car. If you can, could you post a couple of pics of the front door panels. We are trying to answer a few questions about the armrests on those interiors. Thanks. Duane
It appears his interior was changed or the wrong interior was installed at the factory as I said in another post about this car (there are three threads about it). It has a 178 interior (Armrest bench seat w/waffle pattern and waffle pattern door panels). Pics of 50 year old cars aren't really a reliable source of information unless the history of the car is known from new.
I'd made note of the "Z" in another thread on this car. I have a car with a "Z" on the tag but is also an approved combination (very odd car and also a 128 interior). I find it interesting but as you noted we may never know the origin or reason other than the non-recommended interior combinations why certain cars got it or if was a (relatively common) mistake.
