    Has anyone used the trunk board kit being sold on ebay? I'm looking at buying it for my '55 Roadmaster, but hate to spend $100 on crap if somebody else knows anything about it.

    Can you post a link to the listing so we can take a look? If you're not sure how to do that, just type the listing number.

    I bought a trunk board kit from that seller for my Riv. The only thing I was miffed about was that the guy charged me 20 or 25 bucks for shipping and the USPS postage tag said 7.00.

    I don't think there is difference from 4 door to 2 door regarding the trunk. About ten years ago; I got one for my Roadmaster. It is a perfect fit. But, at that time; they didn't offer the correct print pattern. Mine is a solid color.

    In you picture, it looks like you have a 2 door though. Which is what it is listed to fit. I sent the seller an email asking him, but he doesn't know if it will fit either.

    I spoke to the guy once about a year ago. I believe he is in Winchester VA, if we are speaking about the same guy. For my 55 century 4 door he did not have a set, he how ever had a two door which he said would not fit. He offered a free kit if I sent him mine to use as a proof.

    I did see that Cars Inc here in Jersey now has the board kits in their catalog and they do have a kit for mine, I believe they are selling for the Winchester guy.

    yep, mine is 2 door. I don't know one way or , the other that; four door is different (or, not different) :Do No:

    Well, I was wrong. The master parts book shows different part numbers for the trunk foundation dependent on 4 door or 2 door. And also a difference in part number for 70 series vs. 50 series. I believe, the difference in series, is a mottled print for Roadmaster(what mine had originally) . And, a solid color for Super (what, the replacement is, I bought; some years ago).

    The short answer is;
    2 door and 4 door trunk foundation is NOT interchangeble.

    I wish there was an available pattern somewhere with exact measurements for each car. I'd like to make my own out of different material, but I don't want to buy one that I won't use just to do it.

    Looks like I won't be ordering it. Thanks for the all the info, saved me some cash. I'll take a look through cars inc's website and see if i can find it listed in there.
