I just got a TSP JM7724R HEI Distributor for my Skylark Custom 350-4. I was wondering if anyone else has this same distributor and can tell me what advance setup they found worked the best?

TSP didn't provide you with any instructions?

That's not my part number.. the "TSP" is coincidental.

    :DAnd that's what I get for assuming:D

I googled his part number and came up with the instructions,

    https://www.topstreetperformance.com/media/pdf/Pro_Series_Ready_to_Run_Instructions.pdf

It's a Ready to Run MSD clone distributor with adjustable mechanical advance. Here is a clip out of the instructions,

With a stock engine, I would run 32* total timing (initial + mechanical) not including vacuum advance. From the diagrams above, if you don't run any advance stop bushing, you'll have about 18* of mechanical advance. If you run 14* initial, you'll have 14 + 18 = 32*. I would install the 2 heavy (black) springs, and with the engine idling as low as possible, set the initial timing to 14*. You can then install the lightest (Gold) springs and check the total advance. Should be 32*. For the street, I would run the Medium (silver) springs, or gold and silver springs to get all the advance in at around 3000 RPM. That should work great in a stock engine.

Then hook your vacuum advance up.
