like Kevin said it all about what you want and what you can spend,
if your doing a car it dosnt pay anymore to build square tube or mild steel, the resale value is nil,we havent done mild steel anything in close to 6 yrs,[even all rollbars now are done in c/m, that way it can always be upgraded]
pricey is a relative term, there are so many ways to do backhalves ,it all up to what the customer wants, then you go from there,if its a street car,if its a show car or you just want a back half car, we just did a chrome moly,,d round tubed[rear frame ] 4 linked car with full interior for about 10,5 again depends on type of wheels and other things ,but this is a street car, G body ,with 14x31 inch street tires on it,
a 25-5 car like my buick is good to 7.50 and cost about 45-4800 dollars[and it all chrome moly
a 25-2 car firewall back car, can cost from 24-30k again depending on options
    and a basic,[again c/m, round tube] back half costs abot 12-16 k
thats with you just bringing in car and us getting the parts wheels/tire included[i.e. prostar or equal, not bogarts or egual, lol], but there are so many variables that when you compare you need to write all down so you are comparing apples to apples, not apples to oranges, :Comp: bob

well maybe someday, i dont think it would go further than 9s, but i just love the look and the alum int. they have, i guess you could just back half it but not looking for the large tires yet, i'll try and get there with fiberglass and tourqe :3gears: saw a couple on ebay months back , thought they were tube cars, any drwback to buying one a couple years old, do they "go bad" sorry, not my thread so wont ask about my prodjects anymore, would love to see pics of some, thanks all, .dont forget to sign your checks....___2006__....

The guys I work with haven't done a square tube car in atleast 6 years and same as Bob everything is moly now.As a matter of fact if a guy came in wanting a mild job it would cost the same as they buy moly in bulk and get a pretty good deal and they would have to order mild in for the job.
For an example My car in the avitar is a round tube 3/4 back half(round tube from the firewall back) with a SFI 25.2 cert.To duplicate it would be in the 30-40k range. This includes a one off custom front suspension using stock mounting points and converted to a coil over shocks. The rear end has full floating rear axles. The rear shocks are Koni electric.70% of the tin work is done in carbon fiber. This is a high end example but shows how things add up.If you didn't go nuts with the carbon fiber and floater axles etc you could save 8-10k and build the same thing for 20-25k.I afforded mine buy doing alot of the labor myself(I work for Raceengineering on the side).
