A friend of mine has a Turbo 200 in his 86 Regal. He says that it goes into lockup almost immediately after going into 3rd gear even of the car is doing 35 mph. Im really not familiar with the 200's, so Im not sure of this is normal for this trans. Is there an adjustment for this? The lockup solenoid is brand new.
Yes, normal. My 86 Regal 307 did that. I put a chip in the computer that delayed the lock up until 45 MPH. It claimed better ignition timing and EGR settings. The car got a bit peppier but was still a pig with the 2.41 rear in it.
