I have a turbo 400 trans for sale that was mounted to a 455 engine that I just bought. I have it posted as a good running turbo 400. A guy asked me if it was for an Olds and I said I did not know there was a difference ??? I thought that it would fit any GM engine. Is there a difference ??? I guess I dont know ???

Buick, Olds, & Pontiac (BOP) engines use a different bolt pattern on the transmission bellhousing than a Chevrolet. An adapter is needed to bolt a Chevy automatic trans to a BOP motor, and vice versa, unless it is one of the dual bolt pattern transmissions (200-4R & some 350 Turbos) that were available.
