Just took out the engine and transmission in the 68 Riviera in preparation for its mini resto. Now, this Riv has had a vibration at around 55 mph that I have never been to pin down. Went through the driveshaft, tires, etc. Ran the gamut. When I removed the transmission, I noticed that the output shaft of the transmission had a tiny bit of play in it. Is it supposed to? Do you think I might of found my problem? As a side note, I found out that my engine crane can test the tensile strength of ground straps very nicely.
thats normal for almost any trans. what keeps it in place is the yoke. i 2nd you on those ground straps:TU: randy:beers2:
