While I don't have a V8 Buick, I do at least have a Buick. I found this board courtesy of 72 pet chicken (Devalle Graphics).

Anyhoo, I'm always looking to check out new boards of fellow gear heads & this looks like a cool place. :bglasses:

There's more Turbo 6 people here than you think :) My race car is getting a Turbo 6 drivetrain. I was going to put it in my Skylark but decided to see what a drivetrain that put a 3800 lb car in the 10.60s would do in a race prepped 2700 lb chassis...

Did you buy the Buick like that or did you do all the work yourself? Because whoever did it has very good taste in modifications!

    Thanks for the welcome guys!:bglasses:

I'm gonna spread this reply over several posts so I can get to my 10 mark to post pics. LOL

I don't have any track times on the GN yet. But the SRT8 (mods: Borla cat-back & MOPAR CAI) runs 13.2s all day long cutting 1.8 60' times. That's usually with a ton of crap in the back, 2 subs, a box, an amp and a full tank of fuel (since I never seem to plan far enough ahead to leave the tank low before heading to the strip). :Dou:

Yea, I've got a rare one. Not as rare as the factory-built twin turbo V8 GNX, though. LOL!

It is a X clone. At first I was going to leave all badges off the car entirely. But I started getting too many people making "Monte Carlo / Cutlass / etc" references. So I had to throw a badge of some sort on. I went with a custom made GNx logo since the car is basically a GN to the X power. And if anyone ever asks, I tell them straight up it isn't a real X.

    Many thanks on the mods.

The original owner applied the GNX flares, vents & wheels to the car back in 87 (using OEM parts installed by a GM dealer). I wanted to build an X clone to start with, so I was thrilled the car already had this stuff on it. I also knew I wanted to take things further than just a factory look. Bigger wheels, custom gauge work but in a factory dash setup, stuff like that. In another couple of posts, I'll throw in some before and after pics of the car. "Before" pics are from when I took delivery of the car in October of last year. "After" shots will be from last month. I still have more on the list as far as future mods. But for now, she's just gonna get driven. :)

Gah lee I love that car! Every time I look at the pictures it makes me want to own one, and customize it.

Maybe someday, but right now all my time, and especially money is tied up with my racecare lol.

    Thanks Tyler! :)

Yea, I was considering going the racecar route with this one. But now, not so much. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I screwed the pooch and put her into a wall or something similar. :eek2: And I know my insurance company would do nothing more than point and laugh rather than pay me for the damage. LOL

Thank you VERY much Cameo. :beer I've been playing with designs on cars for years. I have to say, this car has been the most fun I've had to date.
