Well tonight I started to pull my motor to check things out, when unbolting the trans, I noticed a nice long crack in the bell housing. Now my delema is A) do I just get another case and transplant all the componets, or B) go with a Ultra Bell. I currently am using a CSR Supershield with the stock case, I need to know if the supershield will fit over the Ultra Bell, or will I need to get a blanket and not use the shield........anybody:Do No: :Do No:

I just went with the Ultra-Bell on my new combo. I think JR uses the sheild on his with the Ultra-Bell. I have a case with the extra bolt webbing if you just want to swap the innards.

That ultrabell is ultracool. Is there a website for it? Price? Do you chop off the existing bell, machining it off?

I just got mine from Summit. It was $239. Then I just cut off the Bellhousing with my super sawzall. :TU:

It comes with longer bolts and they go straight through the front pump.

Good article. Thanks for posting that.

Just to clarify, do you mean that you "...don't believe that you need to remove the pump..."? I didn't think pump removal was necessary.

    Thanks,

    K

:Dou: you do not need to remove the pump.

According to the article, 3 ears need to be ground down. I guess you could do that while the pump is still installed.

I myself will be rebuilding the transmission and installing a 4x4 output shaft and extension housing, so I can strip down the case for removal of existing bell.

Thanks for the article on how to do it.
