Never got an answer to this so will try this board. NADA shows a 1972 Custom Skylark at $3544 "average price". Does this include the options {besides A/C} or are they added as in KBB pricing???
This is a one owner vehicle with original paperwork.

According to VMR, the AC is included in the market price of the car.

Thanks Adam: Not sure of engine...its a 350cu v8 w/4bblcarbs. Does that = 175 horses....Noooo..... she has more than that.... I think. So do I add the $900 or so options from the original window sticker or not?? Based on NADA "value" I'm going was with the low end of the high retail. What is the 5 thru 1 rating and where does this sit.

In 72, the HP ratings went wayyyyy down due to a change in the way they read it. So, theoretically, you've probably got more like 220-240 hp...according to 71 readings.

Is your Lark a 2dr hardtop? 4dr? Sedan?

The numbering system is from #1 (concours show quality) to #5 which is a parts car. Depending on what condition your car is in, I can't say for myself which one it is. A driver with some rust and the typical old car problems would be classified as a #3 and up.

    Assuming you have a Custom 2dr Hardtop, a #3 condition is $2775.

Add 8% to this for the 4bbl 350.

You really can't just add $900 worth of option prices to the "market value" of the car...simply because it's like taking all the receipts from when you bought the car and adding them up to make the "value" of your car. IE: I paid $2500 for the car, but I spent $10,00 on rebuilding the motor...so it's worth $12,500. NOT so.

    Does this help?

Thx Adam. This really helps. She is a "Custom 2 dr Sport Coupe" with noted engine and a "Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 Transmission" + pwr str & bks and etc.etc. Shes always been garaged and is still pretty gutsy. The 220 to 240 HP sounds more like it. No way an auto/175 goes up our "grade" in the left lane.
