I have just brought a 55 special into my shop, it has 25000 original mi on its clock. I talked the owner into keeping the 322 and agreed to installing a 700r4 and 8.8 31 spline rear/4 link. Other than the adapter I would appreciate any help/hints on off the shelf parts and making it a smooth installation. I don't mind fabrication but experience has taught me not to try to reinvent the wheel if a good one is available. Thanks in advance for any help.
Not much for off the shelf parts for this. About your only option would be Russel Martin's torque tube elimination kit. It will still require some fabrication. See his website and give him a call with questions (last link below gives some technical info at the bottom of the page): http://nailheadbuick.com/drive-line-and-differential http://lh6.ggpht.com/-e8BYJSECBRA/U...Y/7TfteKqxmtY/s640/torquetube%2520elimate.jpg http://nailheadbuick.com/automatic-transmission-options-for-the-nailhead-to-get-rid-of-the-dynaflow
