For starters the weather conditions were excellant. The temperature ranged from 47-53 degrees F, the pressure was between 30.0 and 30.03, this resulted in a DA between -43 ft to a high of 436 ft (track elevation is 658 ft). It would have been a great day to run a Pure Stocker.....but we were there to shake out any potential bugs with the new Funny car. We only made 3 hits, with a super soft tune up the car went 1.04 60 ft, then we lifted at about 2.5 seconds out. It still went 2.80 to the 330 ft and went 4.50 @129 at the 660 ft mark. Later this week we are heading to Indy to make some full passes. It should go 5.80@245 MPH.....

Last Friday we attended the NHRA Divisional race at Indy. With a totally soft tune up, we went 2.62 to the 330 ft, 3.96 @187.5 MPH to the 660 ft and then lifted off the throttle at 4.9 seconds into the run and coasted to a 6.17 @191 MPH. Even lifting for the 1000ft qualifying pass would have qualified us #6, but due to the inclement weather, we didn't actually get to race because we still need to do 2 licensing runs at the full 1320ft. I guess we'll have to wait for Norwalk next month...

Unfortunately the new funny car does not qualify for Milan's "run what ya brung" race because it is not a door car. We still have the Pro-mod car, but the engine is in the funny car at this time.

We just got back from making licensing passes at the NHRA Divisional at Norwalk. 1st pass 6.22 @191 shutting off at about 5 seconds into the run for the 1000 ft pass, then went 5.918 @245 lifting at 5.92 seconds and then on the 3rd pass went 5.911 @239 lifting at 5.58 seconds into the run. Totally soft tune up on all 3 passes.....can't wait for Route 66 next month!
