I now have a functional switch pitch in my car thanks to a couple of switches wired very secretively in my ashtray :Brow: . (Borrowed idea from my Dad)

Question: What is the recommendation out there about when to turn off the switch in the track? Larry, if you read this I know you have a timer from PAE, when do you set it to turn off? I think I remember yours turning off right after the 1-2 shift??? or was it based on 60 ft???

I did a search, and will continue to read up more, I have very little track experience. Any lessons and info on how to properly use this is welcome. Of course it may just help to create more wheel spin on the track until I can get a posi in with drag radials!!

    Thanks,

    Jarrod,
All you need the high stall for is to launch the car. The instructions that came with my controller say to set it for your 60' time. I get the best results by setting it to 3-4 seconds, and the car seems to like it. That's right about the top of 1st gear. The switch from high to low stall is kind of time inconsistant, so I set it for 3-4 seconds and it works well. I like the fact that it is hands free, and one less thing to worry about. If I was you, I'd get a pushbutton type switch and mount it on the gear shift. This way you can just remove your finger from the switch when you want low stall.

A friend of mine (martian on this board) got deep deep in the 11's with a switch pitch tranny. They would (lock) it up right after the 1-2 shift. His car is just like yours, a 67 gs (but with a 455).

Thanks for the info guys. Larry, I thought I remembered something about the 60 ft time. Thanks.

David, you gonna be back out at Temple in a couple of weeks? Didn't get a chance to meet you last time, but I remember your truck.

I'll be there, but not sure about the truck. I've been working hard to get it ready. It's up to the tranny guy now, the motor is finally finished!! :bglasses:

    see ya there!! :beer
