How many guys on here use the column shifter that are running a 200-4R?
Is it worth using still? Can you use 1st gear? Did you have to modify it?

had to remove neutral safety switch from column -will modify later
1 and 2 read right. 3 is on the low side of D and 4 is on the high side of D

I have run mine with the column shifter at times. mechanically it shifted fine but the NSS and the "indicator" were issues.

I have no issues with mine. D is Overdrive and 1 is a click below L1

    Works for me.

The only things I was worried about was getting 1st gear and if the backup light switch would still work. The indicator I'm not using either way im planning on getting a Lokar shift indicator and mounting it on the dash.

Ive been using the column shift and loving it:laugh: Took a little getting used to the detent from 1st to 2nd but I feel like I am a pro at it now. Still have the stock NSS hooked up and working fine. The shift indicator reads D for 4th, L2 for 3 L1 for 2 and just below L1 for first

Hows the shifting using the column? I'm still on edge about using it, but i got this really nice consolette off of eBay that i really want to use. But if i do use it there's no room for a floor shifter.

I honestly dont think its too bad once you get used to it. You have to be careful though because its alot easier to miss shifts, I beleive there is a thread in this section about possible modifications that can be done to firm up the detents. And then of course there is always a reverse valve body:Do No:

Curios to see how that looks when installed on the column, but what would you do with the factory indicator? Block it off?

Not sure what to do with the stock indicator. I took this at the Boom Buick show last month:
