Has anybody ran a 16 gauge wire from the stator solenoid in the case to the inside prong? I believe stock was 14 gauge?

Don't think you'll have a problem. I've used 16 ga for solenoid actuation in the past.

What I would be concerned about is the choice of wiring based on its insulation, since it's being bathed in hot transmission fluid constantly. You want to use wiring that is rated for exposure to oil and other solvents.

The insulation on those wires is typically cracked & falling off. I replace
them with Tefl+n insulated wire, see attachment. The hard part is
attaching it to the coil, some are easier (with lug) than others. A little
heat shrink was used to finish the job. 20 gauge would work fine, it is
more a matter of which will hold its shape when mounted in the trans.
    good luck, Bruce Roe

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like I should have paid more attention to the wire insulation. I hope it dosen't melt!
