did all the 350 engines come with vacumm advane or not. and if so what is the spec diference with it. i have a 71 skylark with it.thanks
I'm sure it went past 1975, probably into the 80's or so. Once computer control ran the engine, spark advance was controlled electronically. All Buick motors in the 70's had vacuum advance. The specs on the cannisters are very similar if not the same. There are adjustable cannisters out there that do a good job as long as they are set up right. Vacuum advance gives better gas mileage and should be retained on any street car, IMHO.
The 75 Olds that I beat the hell out of had HEI...but that could've been aftermarket. The motor looked as if it was stock, though.
Yup, 75 GM's had HEI, even some 74's, but they all had vacuum advance cannisters until advanced computer control.
