Valve Cover Questions From A Newbie

I replaced the stock covers with chrome ones and the new ones have one hole on each vs. the stock ones that have 2 holes on one and none on the other, one for the oil and one for the breather. I inserted a breather into one hole; now there's no place for the air cleaner breather connection? Do I need to plug the hole on the air cleaner? Help!
Also, the oil filler hole isn't notched so I inserted a rubber "oil" plug into that hole. Anything else I should do?
    Thanks:Dou:

Well, look at it this way- the snorkel on the air cleaner is itself just a big hole. As long as you have an air filter, that extra little hole that the breather hose used to go to isn't hurting you.

That's part of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system, but I never had a problem running without it hooked to the aircleaner...but I did have a breather on the valve cover that had it's own filter, on that engine.

Personally, I would notch the cover, but that's just me.
