Thought you guys would enjoy this ,the car was recovered from a field in Texas . It is a rare original L72 4 speed Custom Coupe. Red with Black Guts. What makes it so rare is it is a non Super sport,Non SS427 car. Cool pics and it is rough and with out original motor and Trans but still neat. The whole link is on the SS427 web site under message board. http://members5.boardhost.com/impalass427/msg/1263101239.html
there will be more donated from other cars than what will be salavageable from what is left there. IMHO
That's way cool, not a restoration for the faint at heart. He ought to make it into a convertible.....it's so close.
As low as the prices are today (at B-J), if you made it worth 40K, you would have to spend 60K... ou:
from the looks of your avatar car, if anyone could put this one back together, you can. Yeah, transplant roof, quarter panel patch metal and some trim pieces to find or straighten. Looks pretty good otherwise. Hopefully frame is intact. Would love to see the play-by-play progress when you get going on it.:bglasses:
Would be interesting to see what it weighs now. then compare to a solid one...neat car! Paul, did you see the 64 Bel Air that my friend found in a garage her in Detroit after the old guy died? Sold it to Bel Air Bob (?) on the Yenko site.
I used to have a 1967 SS Impala. Marina blue with blue interior, buckets, a/c. Talk a about a land barge. But definitely a great car that always got thumbs up.
Awesome car! My First car at 17 was a 68' Impala Blue on Blue white top. Non original 327 motor and a powerglide. Man I miss that car. Nothing better then a full size car like this a bench seat and 4 spd!
Do you know what he paid for that car? Boy, I wish I could find something like that. Just once. I love it.
Back when I was in middle school in '89-'90, some high school or just after guy in my neighborhood drove a white/black version of that car as his daily driver...had red 427 badges, never knew if it was a real one or not.
Great find.:TU: I use to have a 68 Impala fastback about 15 years ago. Wish I would have kept it. You should start a thread documenting the resto on this one. Ill bet alot of people would enjoy following this one.
