vin decoding

    I would think all Wildcats had 430 but not sure. To bad no picture of engine pretty easy to tell.

    All '68 Wildcats did have 430s, but it's definetly not a Wildcat - it's a LeSabre with a 350 engine ! :TU:

    4 54 87 8 Y L 31103
    4 = Buick
    54 = Le Sabre Custom (opt 400 trim)
    87 = 2dr hardtop
    8 = 1968
    Y = Wilmington, Delaware
    L = not a letter, probably the digit "1" and part of the sequential production #
    31103 = sequential production #


    engines weren't coded in Buick VINs until 1972.
