vin identification help

    cowl tag says
    obc
    st 68-44637fl1
    327218800y
    tr t-7 paint
    l-73
    this is all i can make out of the cowl tag please let me know if there is something missing or more needed.

    VIN =
    4-Buick
    46-GS400
    37-2 dr. hardtop
    8-1968 model year
    H- built in Flint Michigan
    369103- sequence build number of the car, next one was 369104
    TR should be 3 numbers, does yours have the 7 for the 2nd digit ?
    PNT will be either 4 numbers or 2 numbers & 1 letter. Vinyl roof car or paint?

    WELL ON THE VINYL ROOF IT IS A VINYL ROOF. ON THE 7 IT COULD BE 2ND NUMBER I'LL LOOK CLOSER TOMORROW.
    SOMEONE LET A BUNCH OF BOLTS RUST ON THE COWL TAG AND IT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION.

    The label on the breather looks interesting. I don't know if it's possible to verify a '68, or even if the Stage 1 package was available in '68.
    Check in occasionally & the experts here will help out.

    well i did a search las night and found that in 68 buick made a rare dealer installed stage one car and found that it might have also carried the 69 hood ?
    but i do know that the air cleaner i have for this is a pontiac.
    thank i will ask the pro later when i get home thank you

    There was a dealer installed '68 Stage 1 kit and the '69 hood or air cleaner was not part of that package. Tough to prove that this kit was installed without original dealer paperwork.
