vin # info

What can anyone tell me about my car from the vin # 433279z104733? It is a 1969 buick GS350 california.

All you can tell from the VIN is

4=Buick
3327 = Special Deluxe 2 Dr coupe (All California GS's were build on this body style)
9 = 1969
Z = Fremont California Assembly Plant
104733 = Seq. Build number

so is there anyway to tell if its a real california?

 

Only if you have the original sales order with the VIN on it or if you can find the original build sheet for the car. You can check to see if it has all of the California required options but that will not tell you 100% for sure.

-350/4bbl engine
-Turbo 350 auto trans
-Ride & Handling options-specific front and rear springs and shock absorbers, front stabilizer shaft and rear control arm assembly
-Depressed park windshield wipers
-Chrome plated wheels or Super Sport wheels
-GS Ornamentation Package-includes GS 350-400 hood, GS 350 Grill "GS CAlifornia" emblem (both rear quarters), Skylark rear deck moldings, "GS" on sail panel
-Custom Belt Reveal & Wheel Opening Moldings
-Custom Window Frame Moldings -roof drip scalp and windshield pillar, door window and center pillar scalp and rear quarter window scalp.
-One of these
--Appearance Group - Carpeting front and rear floor and deluxe steering wheel.
or
--Rallye Interior Appearance Group - carpeting front and rear floor and rallye steering wheel.

Plus you could order many of the other options available on the Skylark and GS.
