Your 1972 Riv's VIN just tells you it's a 2 drs HT, has a 455, was made in Flint, Michigan and the Flint production number, that's it.
Nothing you didn't know I reckon.

i had placed a post the other day bout customizin the front bumper (like in ur icon, n some1 said that u maybe did that to the riviera in ur icon), if thats the case how did ya do it?>???? that looks awsome n i wanna do it to mine

    Nee,

Use Dutch to English, and after that translate it to the strange language you are typing in :Do No: :Do No:
(couldn't find it in the list)

your icon, that riviera with the front bumper cut off in front of the grill, i was told u were the guy to talk to figure out how to do it

That's a 73 Riviera, so the bumpers are not the same as the one on your 72.

But you can cut off the upper section at the corners of the grille, weld the ends shut en rechrome the bumper.

    Here's a Dutch 71 with split bumpers:

weld the ends shut, u mean the ends from the spot u cut it off in the first place??? (on each side of the gril?)

Yes. When you cut and remove the center section, and leave the 2 end pieces, you are left with open ends on the grille side of each piece. Metal must be cut and welded into place there. The the welds must be ground smooth.

When all is done the 2 bumper pieces must be sent out to be rechromed. It isn't a cheap mod, but it isn't difficult either. You must be able to weld or know someone who can. And they must actually care, because if they don't it will certainly show in their work when it is finally chromed and bolted back on the car.

A very nice looking mod indeed.

can aHello. Im trying to find out some info on an older Buick motor.
I myself deal strictly with Oldsmobile and some chebby cars.
My buddy however has a 1967 buick Le Sabre in great shape but needs engine help. He says it came -w- a 340 but has a 350 Buick in it. I have found a half dozen #'s on the car but don't know what they mean for this car. I can't find any good info sites for buick and noone in my neighborhood deals with old Buicks.
If you can give me some tips or even some good links I would really appreciate it.

    Hello Howal,

Best way is to post all the numbers on this board,
but open a new topic for it with a clear description in the title :Smarty:

The car's VIN doesn't really tell you much. Just that it's a 2 or 4 drs body, and the name of the production plant. It wasn't until model year 1972 that the engine was in the VIN, but you can look for the engine code on the engine itself, or casting numbers etc.
