So I finally got around to looking at the Vin and Trim tags and had some questions. My VIN is 435370H173899 Is the following correct? 4 is Buick 35 is Skylark 37 is 2 dr Coupe 0 is 1970 But what assembly plant is "H"? My trim tag is: ST70 43537FL1 099922 BDY TR 179 58 10 PNT 11B Assembly plant is "FL1" right? Where is that? Body color "58 10" what color does Buick call that? "TR 179" What is that? "11B" When is that? If this makes any difference, the car was originally sold new at Orange Buick in Orlando, Florida. Thanks for your help.
58/10 pnt = Harvest gold body with Glacier white top Tr 179 = Burnished saddle 11B = 2nd week Nov 1969 made
Jim- Not to hijack the thread but my 69 Riv was built in Flint. The trim tag says "EUC" instead of FL1. Any idea why? and what EUC stands for? Maybe built on a different line in Flint?
Jason - Don't confuse body plants with final assembly plants. The H in the VIN means the Flint MI final assembly plant - where the completed body/chassis were mated. FL1 (as opposed to FL2 that I *believe* did Chevys) is the Flint MI Fisher Body plant for the 'A' bodies. EUC is the Euchlid OH Fisher Body plant which did the Riviera bodies. Bodies were completed then shipped back to the final assembly plant to be mated with the chassis.
