I have a 69 skylark that came with factory a/c, But I'm wanting to delete it an install a vintage air system just b/c the factory system did not come with everything and it will probably cost the same to get the old system to blow cold.
Question is do I need to get a a/c delete box and keep the blower in the fender working if I purchase the vintage air system?

    Thanks, Matt

no, the vintage air system comes with its own blower. I did the same thing with my 72 several years ago, worked out good. however, it was not that cheap--what parts do you need to make yours work? I spent close to 2k on parts alone on my conversion, in 2002

    Stage2scott,

I need a new fiberglass box with everything in it and compressor and evaporator and the list goes on and on...I'm just afraid that when I get everything and then get it installed it will not work or will not blow cold. I'm in houston,tx so it gets in the 105 degrees here on any given summer day.

    Thanks, Matt

    Matt:

I converted my non-A/C Wildcat to a Vintage Air system. I am in Houston (Sugar Land) if you want to talk about it or look at how I did it.

I'm leaving town in a few minutes for the weekend. You might want to check out this thread it has a couple of pics of my install.

You are looking at about 1100.00 for a complete system ...takes care of everything including heat and defrost. Will take you a long day or maybe 2 to install. We are a dealer for them and can drop ship to you.
