That car also came with aluminum fenders, hood etc. No factory lightweights allowed at PSMCDR.

The car is quite a find. According to my info, the vin that is provided in the auction is in fact one of the 6 Super Duty Lemans coupes.

Those shorty headers and some of the most rare pieces you will ever see. Except for maybe the Ram Air 5 manifolds for the GTO type body. I believe John Glasgo may have owned a set of those at one time? Also, that Y-pipe is also a factory item. That single pipe coming off the blance tube went back to a single muffler exhaust system.

That will be a expensive car to buy and VERY expensive to restore depending on what is left of the engine. If I were buying that car I would turn that barn upsidedown looking for any stray parts for the car to make sure I got it all.

I think the theory is that this car is the one whose original Al front clip was recovered years ago and is in storage somewhere. One of the guys who posted a question in the ebay ad said that he may have the original engine also.

Lucky SOB, what a jackpot he has found. Good for him.

I love a story like this, much better than hearing about some rich guy that buy's a lotto ticket and wins millions:moonu:

I don't think he had any idea when he put it up for sale, either. I don't mind seeing guys make out like this when they don't expect it. It's the ones who try to get rich quick by flipping average cars at best that piss me off.:TU:
