I would like to find the engine compartment and dash components for factory in dash A/C for my 64 Skylark wagon....brackets for the compressor, dash vents, heater box, etc....would be great if someone were selling a complete system from a parts car that had a known history of previous working condition....I have some items and could do it by buying separate pieces but would prefer to find an entire untouched system if possible...can anyone help? thank you

Best of luck!! (Re: factory A/C system in a 64 Skylark wagon w/300 motor)

Dear WgnLover and V-8 Buick longroof fans,

Unfortunately, I cannot help you at all with this particular question. My 1965 Special Wagon didn't come with air conditioning. I just went through the long ordeal of having her retrofitted with a Vintage Air unit.

Still, I wanted to send you a little encouragement. Not a lot of station wagons around here that are this . . . . "mature!" :)

Best of luck in getting the older sister of my wagon back to being . . . "one cool cat!"

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

This may or may not help -- I also have a 64 Sport Wagon, but with dealer-installed, Buick-branded AC (it uses a separate blower under the dash). I managed to find, on the AACA board, someone who had the installation manual for this unit, and I know it'll be helpful as I rehab mine. in any case, I can send you a PDF of the manual if it will help, as it lists most of the components.

You can also find info on Buick factory AC systems in the parts and technical publications at wildaboutcarsonline.com. Also, Classic Auto Air, in Tampa, FL, seems to have most replacement parts for our cars's AC systems. Their website and catalog alone is helpful. Also, check out the a Buick section of the AACA board.

While I don't have the parts you seek, hopefully some of this will be useful.

I had a few complete a/c systems from cars I parted. I tried for years to sell them as assemblies but never had anybody want one complete. I have some misc a/c parts if you try to piece meal a system together. The compressors I scrapped alomg with the condensers. I have an a/b box sitting in my driveway in a pile of parts.
I've sold quite a few a/c parts on this board.

I'd have to check but I think I have the works. The a/c firewall inner and outer dash plenum, outlets, all compressor pulleys, dash, etc.I took this out of a 64 Skylark(Complete) wagon that hadn't been touched till I got hold of it.I still have the complete motor tranny with all related parts as well as 4bbl carb intake, exhaust.I'm not sure how much I want to sell as I have a 64 Convert with a cracked cylinder head that probably could use the motor. It's open for discussion.PM me or Call,Bill@231-468-2666.
