I want to purchase a 1967 GS convertible. I want a running, driving car. Originality is not an issue as I intend to make it mine anyway. Original engine or later 455 is OK. Would prefer stick tranny but auto is also fine. Would prefer bucket seats. Higher optioned car the better. I DO NOT want a major project!! Not interested in changing quarter panels or wheel tubs or floor or trunk pans or doing major body work. If engine is tired or interior or top need attention - these are fine. Tired paint is also ok. Would prefer a car located in the western US or Canada but can deal with anywhere. Let me know what you have. Thanks:beers2:
Thanks Saw that one. Needs much more than the price justifies. Trying to stay away from major body work.
Duke I see you sold the 48 I dont know if congrats are in order or condolences. o No: Good luck finding that next project.
Just talked with guy today. He is a mech. Replaced the 400 with a year and GS correct motor. Otherwise I guess the car is numbers correct and in great shape. Hasn't driven it in quite a few years. It is stored inside. It does not have correct Buick color on exterior. Can't remember what is on it either. I can ask him if he has any interest in selling. Car is in Southern Minnesota. Mark
Hey Roy - Thanks for the congrats / condolences. It was mixed emotions when I saw it loaded on the trailer bound for Florida. I had owned it for over 11 years - more years than any other car I have ever had - even my Shelby. Only thing longer is my wife and son and I can't say that I own either of them. They just acknowledge me if the need something - even the dog ignores me most of the time. By the way did you friends find a car? Mark - By all means ask him if he want to sell. Let me know - I will give you contact info if he does. Thanks!! Johnny - I have looked at the pictures of that car many times. Every time I look I see more wrong with it. I think it needs a lot of work. When considering the current asking price it does not pencil out. But thanks for pointing it out. Please keep the suggestions coming as I am moving forward with The Plan! I will consider them all no matter the location - it would just be easier if it was in the west.
Will do, Just met him yesterday. Think I talked with him a little much at his work and ticked off his boss a bit. I do know where he lives and will contact him at home. Mark
Duke Shes still looking but now shes thinking she's got plenty of time before next spring. I know before you were on the fence on what you wanted to do if your getting anxious email me pics and info and I will pass it on.
Did I mention that this would be a cash deal?!?! No - gee will you take my old Chevy II with the clapped out 4 banger and my even more clapped out not so slim sister-in-law on trade? Cash Money Honey.:TU:
Not sure if this one would interest you or not,or if anyone knows of it. http://www.bargainnews.com/viewad_referral.cfm?bnad_id=6812109&from=Oodle
Duke, Saw another one on craigslist(DesMoines). I don't know how to post the link or I would. There were no pix posted. Mark
Here's the link. No pics though....................http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/2569404457.html
Major bodywork ? The car you mentioned is my son-in-laws and if you read the ad it says nothing about major bodywork. Minor paint blisters that can be sanded, treated and then repainted is minor. I own 4 MINT Buicks and have looked this one over real good, this is not in need of MAJOR BODYWORK ! As far as price....TWO motors are included in the sale. This is a running car that is all there. You wouldn't be looking for parts as they are all on the car. You ain't gonna find a real 1967 GS Convertible for five grand dude. He is open to "RESONABLE OFFERS" if you know what I mean !
