The bracket on this 1965 G.S. we bought looks homemade. Anyone got the "REAL-DEAL" ??????????? We need one. Thanks TUFBUICK
Those are hard to find. I have one but it's for steel valve covers and won't fit over the cast ones. You could try Carmen, his # is 716-693-4090. :bglasses:
Ron-As Joe said, getting hard to find. All of the rear brackets for '66 will work with the alum covers of the other years nailheads, so hunt the boneyards for a '66 Riv-cat-225 with A/C-good luck-
bracket hi, is that bracket for a 65 skylark with a 300 engine? send me more details about it and i can tell you if i can get one or not. i know where there is a 65 skylark and some riveria's. if you can, give me a close up pic and mark the bracket you need......mike
Hey Mike thanks for the help. I don't know what it would look like, but this is the years that fit. All of the rear brackets for '66 will work with the alum covers of the other years nailheads, so hunt the boneyards for a '66 Riv-cat-225 with A/C-good luck-
A 65 GS rear AC compressor Bracket = GM # 1367410 = 64-65 Wildcat, Electra,& Riv. with AC & 1 four barrel A 66 is not the same number. The same bracket for a 66 GS = 1372195 which is the same aas a 66 Cat , Electra or Riv.with one four barrel.
rear A/C bracket for 65 GS Hi. I've got a complete 65 Wildcat 425 engine with factory dual quads AND a/c. . If you think the 2X4 A/C bracket will work, I'll grab a few digipix for you to use as a reference. . Just lemme know! Also. . .I am looking for a factory fan shroud for a 65 Skylark GS convertible 401. . soon to be 425 with Factory A/C. . no repros please. . anyone got one layin round collectin dust??? Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I think you need more than that rear bracket--there isn't supposed to be a bracket attached to the top front of the compressor on a nailhead engine--the front mounts only by the lower two holes to the top of the Alternator bracket. That compressor in the picture was taken off of a car with a 300--I can tell because the decal on it says Special/LeSabre on it. The correct compressor has a double belt pulley on it and the decal says Wildcat, Riveria, Skylark GS on it.
Ron do you want to modify your order to the whole compressor with the brackets, hoses and all from a correct donor car?
Yes, I think now I should !!!!!!! Thanks for the info on this.....you guys are the best !!!!!! NEW TO NAILHEADS RON
I've got a low mileage 66 401-425 compressor that was pulled and sealed up by me backin the 70's.Cosmetically near perfect. Let me know if you are interested. Peace WildBill
Ron, I took some photos of mine but the brackets are hard to see... photo1: (the yellow stripe on my heater hoses is because they're NAPA truck and fleet hose.....30% thicker and won't burst on full throttle runs :Brow: )
the top one is from my dual quad set up from my 65 cat the next is from a 66 electra 4bbl 425 car you can see it sits differnt from the top one and the bottom is from a 65 cat that had no aluminum valve covers the other brackets and pully's are the same from there i do not want to sell my back ac brackets but will sell the front alt/ac pump bracket i do have an extra on those pully's i want to hang on to as well i only have one extra set of them as well but to note, the 66 4bbl does sit differnt from the dual quad set up back ac brackets Greg
You can cut a slot then bend it about 3/4" to line up then weld it back together again. If you grind out the weld, you'll never see it. The hole on the intake is in a different spot on the dual 4 manifold, set forward just a little as compared to the single 4 manifold. :bglasses:
