Remember passing one for sale last months in California...can't remember where exactly, but will ask GF; she knows. Car was dirt cheap (like in couple hundreds) cause engine smokes. Must have a couple of photos on my HD too...will find them.. Edit: Was in Miranda, CA
That car is caved in in the right front and rear. He doesn't show that in the pics though... Be careful
Thanks for the heads up on the NJ Cat, already been warned of its condition, I'm gonna pass on that one....
http://nmi.craigslist.org/cto/5231858285.html This one has been for sale all summer. He had a 61 lesabre with it for a while. I don't know the seller or the car, but I pass it every couple of weeks on the way to the cottage as he parks it by the highway.
Thanks Doug, can't view CL right now ?? but it sounds like this one (from location)...... http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?299372-1970-Wildcat-455&highlight=wildcat
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/5365575548.html Also on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other...f7a19b8f:g:m34AAOSwCQNWdA-s&item=231787830159 Nice looking 1970 Buick Wildcat with the torque monster 455. This is a great looking car that's clean, fun to drive, and gets a lot of attention. It has been with me for a few years during which time I've replaced all the seals in the transmission, put on new brakes, brake lines, hoses, tires, power top plumbing & pumps, wires, plugs, ignition, oil pump, alternator, timing cover, crank seal, weather stripping, etc. The carburetor (original quadra-jet) has not been simply rebuilt but beautifully restored to as-new condition by 'Sparky.' As you can see the car looks great and as far as I know doesn't have any rot. I'd say it's pretty uncommon to find an early 70s car without body rust. The interior is in surprisingly good shape with no rips or tears in the upholstery and the carpet appears to be a fairly recent replacement that's in good shape. No cracks in the dash pad. Starts right up on the first blip of the key, unless of course it's been sitting for a while and the bowl has dried out (few priming pumps and she's roaring to go). As for known defects I'd say the paint looks good at 10 feet but up close there are imperfections here and there. The car is AC equipped but the AC does not work. At a minimum the compressor needs a new clutch. I can't say beyond that as it hasn't worked since I've had the car (no nonsense about 'just needs freon'). There is a leak in the exhaust manifold/downpipe coupler that I haven't gotten around to fixing. It is noticeable but not obnoxious and the guys at the local muffler shop told me it wouldn't be much of an issue. No oil leaks from the engine or transmission. There's a very small leak from the PS gearbox and by small I mean maybe a tea-spoon per every few months. The fuel gauge doesn't work and I haven't gotten around to figuring out if the problem is with the sender or the gauge itself. Period correct AM/FM radio in place but not wired up. The weatherstripping on the passenger side door needs attention. One side of the top needs the tensioner adjusted in that it wrinkles a little bit (functions perfectly normally however). In general with a car this age there are no shortage of little things that could be refined or upgraded but it's good to go as-is for cruising around town or taking on a trip. These are super rare and this one is a real head turner and an all around great cruiser. I have boxes of extra parts that go along with it as well as a full shop and body manual (electronic version). I would very much prefer to sell this to someone who has a chance to come by and look it over (Nashville, TN). I want you to know what you're buying. Please no tire kickers/fat chewers as my time is very valuable to me but don't hesitate to ask questions or ask for specific photographs. For casual questions I prefer email. My price is fairly firm as I'm not overly motivated to sell it. Like anyone with an old car whose been doing work I've got a lot more in it than the asking price. I would seriously consider working a partial trade for a very low mile Mazda Miata in the 2012-2015 range, where of course I would be the one making up the cost difference. And finally, yes, I'm aware of all the M.O. & bank transfer scam garbage on Craigslist so don't bother trying. No brokers and all that jazz.
Thanks Chris it looks to be a solid car and price seems fair for a vert I may think this one over as I was not orig. looking for a ragtop Tom
Check Cleveland Craigslist.Had one listed this week. It looked rough from the pictures and was asking 1,200 for it. Don't know what condition your looking for. Tom
