Wanted: correct wide clips that retain the front spoiler baffle on a ‘70 GSX (photo with blue circles and a red check mark). The reproductions that are currently available are the narrow style that were used on ‘71-‘72 models (photo with red X). I need 5 more of the wide ‘70 model clips but will buy whatever you might have, even if it’s just one clip. I’ll also get a better photo of the clip and update this thread. Thanks!

I remember the original 70 style clips being much wider then the 71-72 style clips. From memory, I think the front edge was curved into a bow shape, with the reverse of that curve on the back side. (Almost like they punched them out of a flat strip with zero waste.) They were also made of spring steel. I may have 1 around to get a pic of, but not sure. Duane
The ones I sold in my kits were similar to the ones used for the 71-72 cars, and would function correctly for the 70 cars. There has never been, to my knowledge, any reproduction of the 70 style clips………..and to be honest I do not know when the change over took place. They may have been using the 71-72 style clips by the end of the 70 model year. You have to understand the amount of “attrition” these parts took on the road. The original spoiler on my old 70 GSX was only 1/3 there, with one end torn completely off and there was only a small piece of the baffle left. Many of the cars didn’t have much left to look at. I'm still looking for some correct '70 clips which are wider than the 2nd design clips that we see on the '71s. I need 5 but am interested in whatever you might have, even if it is just 1.

I have a NOS set of qty 3 of the wider clips with what’s left of the original package. I need a full set of the 71 clips for my car. If I can find a nice set of those I won’t need these.
